Amazing Wedding day, well managed and great venue

We took up the diamond package that involved us taking all 44 bedrooms, the Malt House and the Tithe Barn for our special day. The wedding could not have been any better or gone any more smoothly. The Tithe Barn was perfect for an intimate and beautiful ceremony for our 120 guests. The registrar from Maidenhead was efficient and positive, as she made sure we felt comfortable about the legal part of the ceremony. The staff were calm and collected as they helped cajole all of the guests into the right places at the right times. They never added any stress to the occasion and they really understood the relaxed environment we wanted the experience to be. They allowed us to select all of our own music and they then took control of the logistics required without any errors or worries. The post-ceremony transfer to the Malt House was handled perfectly, and their assured competence really shone through. They were professional throughout without being forceful or rushed. The drinks reception was impeccable with a variety of garden games laid on for guests to enjoy and the specific drinks had been laid out beforehand exactly as we had requested. Once we returned to the Tithe Barn for the meal, they again controlled the pace of the day perfectly, demonstrating flexibility and empathy for our needs. The options of salmon, lamb and Eton mess that we selected were sumptuous and brought rave reviews from our guests. The food was served in a timely manner and the tables were all in-sync as they enjoyed their delicious offerings. Once the speeches were over, the management again looked after the needs of all guests as they moved the party with impeccable efficiency to the Malt House for the party. Once there, the control of the evening was magnificent, as the guests were directed to the dance floor as per our requests. The staff orchestrated the entire evening perfectly and without exception showed themselves to be supportive, understanding and committed to making our day perfect. The ensuing hog roast was delicious and the house DJ played music exactly suiting to our tastes, further to our communication prior to the evening. All of the guests were glowing in their praise of the food, service, entertainment and the outstanding accommodation the hotel provided. To top it all off, the buffet breakfast the next day was wonderful in both quality and quantity. I cannot praise Gabriella enough for her calm support and organisation of the event and Rob for how he oversaw the wedding on the ground during the day. Jazz and Neil managed the day with flair and expertise, and were on hand to ensure that both bride and groom were properly supported with extra booze and time alone throughout the day. We both agreed that it was an incredibly special day. We knew it would be amazing but did not dare to dream it could have been so utterly perfect as it was; the Olde Bell afforded us such a beautiful venue, amazing food and service, and we could not thank them enough! Our recommendation of the diamond package could not be more effusive. Quite aside from the service and food provided as recommended above, the diamond package afforded us exactly what we wanted from our wedding: for everyone to be together for a massive party! To my knowledge, very few wedding venues will provide rooms for the vast majority of a largish wedding to such a high standard and at such a reasonable cost. We were able to give many of our guests luxury suites with freestanding bathtubs or walk in showers, and all of our guests applauded the venue for the quality of the rooms on offer. The party was able to continue well into the night because of everyone being roomed on site, which was exactly what we had been hoping for of our wedding. The bar stayed open and room service was available all night.

Wonderful Winter Wedding

When looking for venues for our winter wedding, we had a number of boxes that needed to be ticked. Somewhere quirky where people could stay the night of the wedding and night before if possible, somewhere rustic, charming, with history, somewhere that would allow us to have candles during the ceremony and meal - and where we could have a fabulous party big enough for 100+ people and accessible from London and M4/M40. We looked at places in The Cotswolds and Surrey but nothing ticked all the boxes until we came across The Olde Bell in Hurley. We both knew it from having grown up not far away but didn't immediately think of it as a venue, but I am SO glad we did as I could not imagine a more perfect setting for our winter wedding. The Olde Bell offered a number of different wedding packages and we opted for the Diamond Package which included exclusivity and all 44 rooms of the hotel including the lovely Malthouse which is a separate part of the hotel just next door to the main Inn itself, however we used The Tithe Barn for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the party which is situated just opposite. Amy was placed in charge of co-ordinating our wedding when a previous co-ordinator left just 5 weeks before our big day, but Amy was absolutely fantastic from the minute she took over She was calm, patient, incredibly warm - and very organised! We had a great meeting with her and the General Manager Jeremy and we both came away feeling confident and content that our big day was in very safe hands. Amy replied to our emails almost immediately or at least within a couple of hours maximum (anyone planning a wedding will know how frustrating it is to have to wait for days to get a reply from a supplier) and didn't once rush or pressure us for answers to questions. We had several alterations leading up to the day and a couple of big changes just days before the wedding, which Amy handled in her stride without any fuss or questions. Calmness and the ability to be very organised is exactly what any Bride and Groom needs in the run up to and on the big day! We had 23 rooms allocated for our guests the night before the wedding as we wanted as many people to enjoy the venue as possible and we had 40 for dinner in the restaurant for the Friday night. The food was not only fantastic, but everyone was served together and it was a great way to kick off a memorable weekend - for guests to meet each other and for people to get to know the nooks and crannies and beautiful setting of The Olde Bell. On the day, all the staff were really kind and supportive to Carl and I. Amy came up to the Bridal Suite (which was an amazing room) to say hello and was there straight after the ceremony to present us with a glass of champers! Aga was looking after us on the day under the General Manager Jeremy's watchful eye and calm presence. Aga and the team were brilliant and just went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect for us. She popped in to check I had everything I needed in the run up to the ceremony and I felt completely confident and calm because I knew the team were so good, I trusted them entirely. I'm a DJ so it was important for me to have music through each part of the day and the team ensured my ipod was where it needed to be at all times throughout the day. We brought our own table names, guest name places and wedding favours which were all set up beautifully. The tables looked stunning. The service for the dinner was brilliant. The food was gorgeous, we had really enjoyed our menu tasting which resulted in a lovely meal for all our guests. Thank you Rick the Chef and team for all your hard work. The rooms reset from the meal to the party was so quick and impeccable. There was no doubt that everyone knew exactly what they were meant to be doing the whole time. During the party, it was important to us to keep as many people in the Tithe Barn for the party as possible so the team even set up a bottle bar in the Barn for us and we kept a separate bar open for those wanting spirits. The venue obtained a late licence at a small cost so we partied til 1am and they kept the hotel bar open til 2am for the hardcore party guests (Bride and Groom included)! I had so many comments from our guests on how magical the venue was - which only confirmed exactly what we knew from the start, that The Olde Bell was the ideal place for our wedding. I couldn't recommend The Olde Bell and their team highly enough to any couple looking to book a fantastic, characterful and beautiful venue for their wedding. Thank you Jeremy, Amy, Aga, Pablo, Rick - and all the team! You helped to make the most important day of our lives absolutely perfect from the moment we arrived on the Friday afternoon to the moment we left on the Sunday afternoon. We'll never forget you! xxx

Huge Thank You

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at The Olde Bell for helping make our wedding day so special on 3rd August 2019. Everything from start to finish, from our ceremony in The Library to the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and dancing in the evening went as we planned. Thanks to everyone involved, including the careful planning from Gabriela and everyone we've met along the way. Our wedding guests gave us great feedback, with many telling us they loved the venue with its various rooms, historic features, friendly atmosphere and relaxing garden. They also commented on the high quality food served by The Olde Bell team for our wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. And the guests who stayed in the Malt House said they loved the spacious rooms. Our guests had a wonderful time - and so did we! Thanks again to the whole team - we've met many of The Olde Bell staff since we fist visited in May 2018 and we were impressed from the start by the team's professionalism, friendliness and above all your enthusiasm for The Olde Bell as a venue. We would definitely The Olde Bell and look forward to visiting again at some point in the future.

Amazing Wedding Day

Myself and James just wanted to say a massive thank you to Gabriela and the team. Our wedding day was very well organised and ran very smoothly, from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast. It was perfect and just as we hoped it would be. We were very impressed with Julian and the whole waiting team, they did a phenomenal job on the day and ensured all tables were catered and that the drinks and canapes flowed. Julian thought of every detail and my Dad let me know that Julian and his team even beautifully presented and laid out the cheese and crackers that we had personally provided. We were also grateful that Julian gave me and James a glass of champagne at midnight, as we had not been able to get one with everyone coming over to talk to us! It was small details like that, that meant so much. Please pass our compliments onto the to the chef and his team. We received so many comments from our guests about how lovely the food was and everyone was impressed with just how much food there was! Several of our guests said it was by far the best food they have ever had at a wedding which meant so much to us and in itself is a huge compliment to your chef and his team. A big thank you as well, to you Gabriela. We are very grateful for all your help and support with the organisation of our wedding. You were always there at the end of a phone or computer to answer all our questions. We had the most amazing Wedding Day at the Olde Bell and for that it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
