The Devonshire Arms Hotel is the perfect country house venue for your dream wedding. The hotel can look after intimate groups of 2 to 30, or larger parties of 80 during the day and 120 at night, and is licensed for civil ceremonies both inside and outdoors.
Their wedding team know that planning can feel like a lot of work, so they stay close by from your first enquiry to the moment you say "I do," keeping everything simple and calm. On the day, the team makes sure the details are handled so you can spend your time with your guests.
The seasonal food makes the most of what is grown in the nearby kitchen garden and reared on the estate. For those who want more space, the hotel has 40 bedrooms and a collection of holiday cottages, plus a spa with a pool and sauna to help you relax before the big day.
If you need a hand finding photographers, florists, or cake makers, the team can introduce you to local people they trust, who know the house well and work to the same high standards.
With seasonal wedding fairs each year, you can see the hotel dressed for a wedding and check out the latest offers. The next wedding open day at the Devonshire Arms Hotel is on 28th February 2026.

I can honestly say from beginning to end they were faultless. Right from looking round the venue to booking and all of the planning before the day was perfect. Robyn who was our wedding planner made our experience a dream. She was on the ball straight away, nothing was a ‘silly’ request and she dealt with everything we wanted to make our day special. We can’t fault the Devonshire Arms, our day was truly magical. If we could have our day again, I wouldn’t change a thing. The venue is beautiful and staff were amazing. We had a lot of feedback from our guests who all said positive things about the venue. Andy & Katie We got married at the Devonshire arms on the 1st June 2019. Get as much sorted as early as possible - that way you don't have a last minute panic or spend!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love it when couples get creative. We've had a few weddings who 'craft' and they created the most stunning table plan with such detail and personalisation to their family. This is my other top tip, always think about linking your day to your most treasured friends and family!
