The Mandolay combines the facilities of a modern 4 Star hotel with the stylish atmosphere of a boutique hotel. As the largest independently owned hotel venue in Surrey we have the capacity to host events of up to 500 guests in comfort and style whilst our range of entertainment and dining options give organisers the opportunity to really ‘get creative’ with their plans. The striking white Edwardian façade of The Mandolay has long been a Guildford landmark, a perspective enhanced by our Bombay Sapphire Terrace and heated outdoor seating area. The steps leading to our light and airy reception area provide a popular photo opportunity for guests and a stunning backdrop for the arrival of the bridal party. Our 8 prestigious, fully self-contained suites have state of the art sound and lighting, air management systems, free wireless connectivity and disabled access. Perfect From Start To Finish

The day was perfect from start to finish, it's as simple as that really. We always felt in complete control of events. The sales team gave us options and guidance, they listened to all of our requests and made good on every commitment. We chose our own menu, service style, timings, music choices, in fact everything we wanted. As a 'more mature' couple we were fairly settled on our choices anyway but the suggestions we received helped us to make the day even more memorable. There were things that we would not have dreamed of asking for (fish and chips, served in newspaper for one of my relatives. The idea started as a joke but turned into a spectacular high-point of the day). The service could not have been better, attentive without ever being overpowering. The staff could not have been more helpful and every single person seemed to have a smile on their face, a sign of a happy team. I can't think of a single thing that I would have changed, ours was a small wedding by modern standards, just 30 of us, it was the best day ever.

A Moment to Say Thank you

Apologies for delay in replying, as you can imagine its been a frantic few weeks! Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of your (and your teams) hard work in helping Matt & I with our wedding! We had such a fantastic time and our guests really enjoyed themselves! From the start of our wedding planning process the team at The Mandolay Hotel were beyond welcoming and helpful. We first came across them while trawling through the internet looking for local venues for our wedding, and when we found The Mandolay, we started to fall in love. They had a wedding fayre coming up and once we got there and had a look round and met the team, we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Tami was a delight to work with and made the whole process so fun and stress-free every step of the way! On the day we had a few vendor issues, but Tami and her team took it all in their stride and dealt with it professionally and quickly - you wouldn't have known anything had happened! There are not enough words to express how grateful we are to everyone at The Mandolay for making our wedding more perfect than we could have ever hoped for! We would 100% recommend this venue to anyone! We will definitely be in contact for our 1 year anniversary, and until then, I wish you and The Mandolay all the success in the world! Everything was just perfect!

Where do I even begin.....from the minute we booked the Mandolay as our wedding venue I knew we had made the right decision! The hotel is lovely the staff are amazing and the wedding was fantastic! I worked with Tami for about a year to plan the wedding and she completely saw my vision for the wedding and helped me every step of the way which I will be forever greatful for. I felt at great ease the whole day and had every faith that Tami and her team had everything under control. Everything was just perfect from the rooms at the hotel to the food and drinks. Leading up to the wedding as you can imagine I got very anxious and nervous about little details but Tami was very quick to put my mind at ease and assure me she had everything under control ( which she did) we used the DJ provided by the hotel as part of the package and he was amazing so lovely and the guests loved him! if your thinking of having your wedding at the Mandolay then go for it you won’t be disappointed and you will have the best day and if you’ve already booked your wedding at the Mandolay then I’m so jealous because I want to do it all over again!!! Thanks so much again to the Mandolay and especially to Tami for the most amazing wedding! Love the new Mr & Mrs James x

Nothing was too much trouble!

Thanks for your email – apologies for the delay in coming back to you – it has been a crazy couple of weeks. We would like to thank you and your team for all your help and assistance in getting our wedding together – everyone had an amazing time and we really enjoyed it. All staff members we met (reception, Gillian, Ops, Bar staff etc) were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble and you have a wonderful team.

Thank you for all your help and support. we just returned back from our honeymoon and back at work and routine as usual. I would like to highly commend the great job done by you guys and the entire planning team in ensuring our wedding was special from the very beginning. One key highlight for me is the fact that planning a wedding long distance without ever meeting the team is not the easiest task, yet the communication was timely and detailed and allowed me to have the comfort of planning with your team as though it was done face to face if not better. The event day was also flawless. with the exception of small glitch of music sound check ( which was pretty stressful :) ) everything went smoothly and as per agreed plan so job well done! The only area which we felt could have had a bit of improvement is during the prosecco and canepes one tends to lose the crowd as they move towards the upstairs bar as the peosecco doesnt last the full 1.5 hours... for any event its nicer if the crowd can be kept contained to the designated location which was possible if the small bar outside the registrar room would be open.. not a big deal but food for thought. All in all, food was good, set up good, team great :) recommended suppliers were also very easy to work with and very helpful Thanks for making our day even more special. I would highly recommend the Mandolay Hotel for events in the future. 'Wow' Factor

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team at The Mandolay Hotel for making our wedding day so special. We had an amazing day and all of our guests commented on how lovely both the venue and staff were. Thank you in particular to Charlotte the Senior Events Coordinator for helping to put together such a fabulous wedding reception at short notice. You did a wonderful job, the room looked gorgeous & certainly gave our guests the ‘wow’ factor. Also, we would like to say a special thank you to the excellent Banqueting Manager for ensuring our day went so smoothly. His attention to detail & friendly manner helped to created a lovely atmosphere. He really was fantastic & we are beyond grateful for his kindness & professionalism. The entire room was laid out beautifully, the food tasted amazing & the service provided was exceptional. All of the staff were polite & attentive, so please pass on our thanks to all of the team. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about celebrating their wedding in the heart of Guildford. We look forward to visiting The Mandolay Hotel again.

My winter glam wedding was perfection! No details was left un-turned from the stunning silver linen to the matching silver beaded charger plates that finished off the design look! My bride had a vision and ensured it happened with every detail.

Where’s the best photo spot at Mandolay Hotel?

Our garden (shocking I know) a high street venue with green space. This makes it the perfect backdrop of photo's because it's unexpected at our venue. Runner up location is our stunning chandelier before you enter the Mandolay Suite.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Mandolay Hotel?

We had the number 1 George Micheal impersonator give a surprise performance to our wedding guest. Booked by the bride and groom and was the talk of the night!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Out Filet Meatballs has to be my favorite canape - delicious!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Bacon Baps....I wish more of my weddings did this! A toasted Bacon BAP as all of your guests head to bed is the perfect midnight treat!

What is Mandolay Hotel most unique feature?

The size of our Mandolay Suite.....you just don't expect it when you come to the hotel. But to have a function suite of this size with ceiling height is a WOW factor for sure!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our service....my team care about a wedding just as much as I do. It shows on the night that we are all in it together in order to ensure the night is perfect!
