Machermore Castle

The striking Scottish Castle dates back to 1100AD and has a long, fascinating history. The traditional architecture is complemented beautifully by the breath-taking surroundings. The stunning setting provides you with idyllic backdrops for your important wedding photographs. As the Castle is licensed to hold civil and Humanist wedding ceremonies, you can spend your whole day in one spectacular location. The beautiful venue can accommodate up to 100 guests in the large ballroom and up to 300 in a lawn marquee. You and your guests can enjoy full, exclusive use of the grounds and Castle, allowing you a private celebration with the undivided attention of our staff. When you plan your day at Machermore Castle, our dedicated wedding planner and wonderful staff will be on hand to offer help and assistance throughout. We will ensure that every detail is catered for so that your big day runs smoothly from start to finish. For your wedding, we can provide delicious wedding breakfast menus, served by an excellent, attentive team. We also have corkage charge. We currently offer accommodation for up to 17 guests within the Castle and 20 guests can spend the night in the estate’s private lodges. The estate’s location – west of Dumfries – makes it accessible from all areas of the United Kingdom, ideal for travelling guests.
