Lynn - a very special wedding celebrant!

We are sorry it’s taken us so long to tell the world what an amazing wedding ceremony Lynn performed for us. The service was packed full of touching and unique elements that made the day truly memorable for both us and our guests. A Christmas cracker housing wedding rings and a seasonal love potion were just a few of the Christmassy touches that made the day so special! We couldn't have asked for such a personal and professional service! Thank you Lynn for joining us in matrimony in style.

So much more than a wedding supplier

It was by happy chance that we found Lynn to conduct our wedding ceremony, having initially approached the local registrar only to find them fully booked. And what a stroke of good fortune this turned out to be; not only did we enjoy the increased flexibility of a celebrant-led ceremony, were also lucky enough to work with a celebrant that seemed to care as much about our special day as we did. Throughout the process Lynn was professional and dependable, guiding us through each stage and making helpful suggestions to craft a ceremony suited to our personalities and tastes. In the lead up to the wedding she went above and beyond, not only in preparing the ceremony but also familiarising herself with the venue and acquainting herself with other suppliers to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day. Yet what makes Lynn so special is her commitment to getting to know her couples on a personal level; by the day of our wedding she was so much more than a wedding supplier - she had become a friend. The result of her hard work over many months was a perfectly crafted ceremony in which both our story and her warmth and humour shone through, and we had so many guests comment on what a beautiful ceremony they had witnessed. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Lynn and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Our Wedding at Home

Lynn has been fantastic from the moment we booked her right up until the day. She helped us to understand exactly what we both wanted to get out of the day and she personalised the ceremony to both me and my husband. (I think she knew what we wanted more than we knew ourselves!) We could not have asked for a better outcome. She is the perfect solution for those of you who don't want that traditional church wedding. I would highly recommend Lynn.

A Cotswold's Barn Wedding

Lynn was wonderful from the word go. She wanted to get to know us individually and together and make our ceremony perfect for us. On the day the service was personal, humorous and heart felt, exactly what we wanted. Many of our guests said it was the best service they’d ever been to. We felt like Lynn really knew us which was extremely reassuring on the day, completely put us at ease and the benefit of having our service this way. Big thank you to Lynn, we will always remember our perfect wedding ceremony. Promise to send photos soon. Laura and Rich Maidment

A simple family wedding

We were recommended Lynn Tierney Ceremonies by our venue and as soon as we saw her website we couldn't wait to meet her. We were taking a gamble with two families who would probably have preferred a religious ceremony but boy were we proved right! Lynn's dedication to getting to know us, what we wanted and what would suit the venue was second to none. She helped us to organise all the necessary seamlessly and took the time to stay in touch throughout the process. The ceremony she crafted was so thoughtful, personal and well written. It was such a relief to be able to relax on the day, knowing she had everything in hand - she could not have been a more reassuring presence. She put everyone at ease and allowed us to include exactly what we wanted. We have had such lovely compliments from people who joined us who agreed she pitched everything perfectly and brought genuine warmth to our day. Thank you Lynn for all your hard work, we will treasure our copy of the ceremony and always remember the way you exceeded all our expectations.

More than just a celebrant

Where do we begin! Words truly can't express how grateful and blown away we were with Lynn's contribution to our wedding. Lynn is a kind, caring and thoughtful woman. We felt connected to her from the very first Skype call all those months ago. The ceremony she put together was truly heartfelt and personal and will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Lynn brought a human energy to our day that was priceless and really captured the essence of who we are. Many of our guests said that it was the most authentic and entertaining they had ever witnessed. For this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A really special and unique wedding

The whole wedding was really personal. Lynn had clearly done much to assess Jane and Tommy s character and the type of wedding that was right for them . We felt that Lynn had got to know them them and cared for them, bringing details through the wedding that made it so special . Even last minute changes of plans( due to the weather) were managed without stress. It was a beautiful occasion .

The perfect celebration for our fantastic day

Naomi and I approached Lynn to perform the role of Celebrant at our Beer Festival themed wedding at Meadowbrook Farm, South Ox. From our very first meeting, through to helping us with our vows, the script, the order of the day - recommending readings - and of course the obvious stuff you want from someone who'll be hosting your ceremony - a positive attitude, beaming smile, superb diction and great public speaking ability - Lynn was simply fantastic. Whilst my family is rather alternative, the bride's were much more traditional. Going with a celebrant was not I'd say a risk, but bound to come under far more scrutiny than a religious ceremony would have. On the other hand, there was simply no way I was going to go down the religious route personally! But the point is, people were sceptical, but to a man every piece of feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. People loved the ceremony, and it wouldn't have been possible without Lynn. Going through her questionnaires initially to help us write up how exactly we met, and fell in love, was lovely, and that it was so well reflected in the final script is a brilliant reflection of the personal touch Lynn brings to proceedings. All I would say, is if you're considering a Celebrant (or even if you weren't before), and stumble across Lynn and this page, book her immediately. She will make your day great, and you'll love it. Thanks Lynn for being such a brilliant part of our day Dave and Naomi.

Lynn created the most unique, personal and magical ceremony for us!

My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of Lynn and cereomony she created for us. It was so personal, unique and magical that many people asked if we knew Lynn already due to the way she talked about our relationship and captured it so perfectly. Lynn managed just the right balance of emotion and humour which made it so engaging throughout. Lynn was a joy to work with, due to the short time scale of our wedding, Lynn had to chase us a fair bit but was so patient and understanding in doing so. Lynn was fun, caring and lovely to work with. We had countless guests comment on the ceremony and say it brought them to tears (coming from a very un-emotional family!) and we will never forget it. When it started raining (heavily!) half way through the ceremony, Lynn was not phased and did not let it affect our ceremony at all. We really feel that the ceremony set the tone for the whole day and cannot thank Lynn enough!

FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Maybe because it was my first wedding or maybe because the couple and I just clicked right from the first point of contact, but I'll never forget L and D's wedding. They had found their dream venue - an empty barn space for their wedding celebrations but without a license to carry out civil ceremonies. No problem for a celebrant though. We worked together to create their dream ceremony, including their favourite music, readings and film references. Family arrived from all over the world for their outdoor ceremony on a beautiful July day and the whole thing was watched over from on high by two magnificent red kites (the feathered variety) who circled round and round each other above the ceremony space. Truly symbolic.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

This is how I have been described in the testimonials I've received. Lynn is ..... calm, warm, good-humoured, personable, professional.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The thing that gives me the most pride in my work is the fact that, because I have spent the time to get to know each couple before their big day, they can have confidence in the person standing with them in front of their gathered family and friends as they commit to each other not just for today, but for the rest of their lives.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Remember that this day is all about the two of you. Make it special, make it personal, make it unique in every way.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I start by meeting with the couple to chat to them about their wedding. What kind of feel do they want to create, the when and the where. Inevitably we get into where did you meet, how did he propose, tell me some stories. I then go through how I work, what I can add to their day, what they can expect of me and a quick run through the kinds of things I have found that could be included in their ceremony. Hopefully, after this meeting, they will know whether I am the right celebrant to work with and will book me for their day. We then have email and phone contact and will be sharing ideas that we come across, be that symbolic ceremonies, readings, music. I also send them a questionnaire to complete that asks loads of nosey questions - I'm getting my info here. About three months before their wedding we will have a longer meeting to really plan the structure of their ceremony, before I take everything I've learned and weave it together to make their highly personal and unique ceremony draft. This then gets sent to the couple for their approval and amendments and is worked on until it is absolutely perfect. There will then be a 'rehearsal' at the venue as close to the day as possible, to choreograph entrances, movements, positions and exits so that on the day itself everything runs so smoothly. And then I'll be there on the day about an hour before the ceremony is due to start, to ensure that everything for the ceremony is in place and ready to go. And I won't be dashing off to another wedding straight afterwards, either, so if the bride wants to be fashionably late, then that's fine with me!

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Careful planning, leave plenty of time to complete tasks, communicate clearly and in a timely manner, and one wedding in a day for me to concentrate on wholeheartedly.

What do you love most about your job?

Being able to create a ceremony that will bring a smile to the lips, a ripple of laughter, a catch in the throat, a tear to the eye. And a memory to last a lifetime.

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

Obviously the ceremony - isn't this what it's all about, after all? And which part of the ceremony? Well, it has to be those personally written vows, the promises that each makes to the other, spoken from the heart.
