What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding holds unique memories for me and they are all so special, impossible to choose just one!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Luxurious, understated, stylish, timeless, calming,
What about your business are you most proud of?
Having left a big London agency to set up my own business, all my work in the first year has come through word of mouth recommendations - no paid directory listings or advertising - you can't be prouder than that! Also having my work featured in You and Your Wedding (2 x 5 page spreads) twice in one year.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Prioritise your budget
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Every wedding is uniquely personal to that couple but I love it when guests notice these elements and comment how the day is a brilliant reflection of their relationship and is distinctly "them"
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I believe that as a wedding planner, it’s not my job to project my taste and preferences onto my clients but rather spend time getting to know them and listening carefully to the journey of their relationship and from there, to design and deliver an unforgettable day which reflects their personalities, their preferences and their stories and which guests would all agree is tangibly “them”. I do have a signature approach to wedding planning though which I am often told is a combination of meticulous, calm and collaborative.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A surprise engagement at a stately home venue in central London
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Top Tips:
1) Be organised – a folder, a timeline, a to do list and a budget – or get help from a planner!
2) Be clear – discuss and agree what are the ‘must haves’, the ‘nice to haves’ and the ‘could do withouts’ and allocate time and budget accordingly
3) Be calm – don’t sweat the small stuff – the most important part of the day is the ceremony and the celebrations with loved ones. No one will notice if the napkins don’t match the exact shade of your earrings so don’t lose sleep over it!
4) Engage me as your wedding planner ;-)
What do you love most about your job?
Prioritise the items on budget - the must haves, the nice to haves and the could do withouts
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
I am always really moved by the arrival of the bride and the few moments we spend together with her attendants before she makes her entrance. That and the first dance - which can either be really romantic or really fun - or both!
