"photos we have seen so far are truly gorgeous."

A lovely, lovely man. A pleasure to have around on our Wedding day, and went above and beyond for us. Do not hesitate to book Richard for your big day! He captured every single moment, and the photos we have seen so far are truly gorgeous.

Wow. What a guy. Everybody – and I mean everybody – commented on how hard he worked all day.

Wow. What a guy. Everybody – and I mean everybody – commented on how hard he worked all day. He was there at 8am and I didn’t see him sit down until 10pm. He must have been exhausted. He wasn’t intrusive at all. A fly on the wall. But so much fun, that you’d want him at your party anyway! He really put us at ease and we were so impressed with the beautiful candid shots. He caught so many moments. My favourites are the ones of Stu’s brothers and my new sister-in-law setting up the ceremony space. They worked really hard for us, so it’s great that Richard caught that love and kindness on camera. With so many glamorous and staged wedding photos out there, it’s so refreshing to see Richard beautifully captured all the humbling deeds and hard graft happening in the background. The man’s an artist.

"Richard did the most amazing job"

Richard did the most amazing job of photographing our wedding. He was such a lovely person to have around on our special day, and he definitely delivered with the photographs. He managed to really capture all the little moments of the day without taking over or getting in the way. He sent the photos much quicker than I expected too which was nice, and it has been great to be able to share the the slideshow that he put together with friends and family.

We absolutely adore our photographs

I can't recommend Richard highly enough. He is a genuinely lovely guy to have around, making us laugh and fitting in brilliantly with our guests. He's non-intrusive and discreetly manages to capture beautiful moments when your guests are completely unaware they're having their picture taken! We absolutely adore our photographs, they are so beautiful and capture all elements of the day perfectly. I can't thank him enough and will always cherish the pictures he took for us.

"Richard was a fantastic photographer"

Richard was a fantastic photographer who made the day fly by with ease, and at no point feeling like photos were a chore. He blended in perfectly to get the most amazing candid shots of the whole party without ever being over bearing. Our whole family loved having him with us in the morning as well as we were getting ready. The final photos are beautiful and we love his use of light and the capturing of some fantastic characters and moments throughout the day.

Richard was a complete photography superstar!

“Richard – you’re a complete photography superstar, we LOVE our photos! Thank you for being lovely, professional, seemingly everywhere at once, unobtrusive – you have an incredible eye. We have come back to your photos again and again and keep finding new things we love – little glances you’ve captured, or moments we had forgotten. Our guests have also been thrilled with how many awesome pictures you’ve taken of everyone – one of our friends emailed us to say “ils arrivent à nous rendre carrément plus beaux gosses” – basically, the photos make us all look really awesome/handsome! Which is true! Thank you so much for agreeing to join us in France to photograph our day. We will treasure our photos forever.“

You can feel the emotions he captures - his photos

Richard photographed a friend's wedding last year and when we saw the pictures we were captivated and there was no question - Richard would be our photographer and we booked our wedding around his availability. You can feel the emotions he captures - his photos are dynamic, warm and full of personality. Richard is always professional, easy to speak with and took time to run through our wedding day a few weeks before and tell us what to expect from him and his style of photography. He was wonderful on the day and the photos are sensational; he's captured every moment and detail with great care. We received so many compliments for Richard and his photographs from our guests - a testament to his skill and kindness. I look forward to seeing Richard again when my younger sister gets engaged and married - she already knows there's no other photographer for her!

We can’t recommend Richard enough

We can’t recommend Richard enough, his beautiful photography is so dynamic and warm, full of energy and really natural. He has an eye for stunning compositions, and stealthily captures every funny and sentimental moment. From when we first got in touch he was relaxed, fun and approachable. He was very happy to start the day on a motorboat on the River Thames photographing Joe and his friends’ rowing race, he gathered all 140 odd family members after the ceremony and all 240 odd guests for a group picture at the reception, and steered his way through a ridiculous dance floor late into the evening. Amongst all this, Richard scheduled in moments throughout the day for just the two of us – this was something we loved about his approach, its easy to get swept up as the day goes so quickly and those moments were a chance to press pause and focus on each other. Richard has given us an incredible package of photographs, and the easy-to-use online gallery is perfect for us and our family and friends to look through, download or order pictures.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

So many but this year it definitely had to be one at Chateau de la Bourlie in Dordogne in south west France, 37 degree all day but such an incredible experience and couple knew how to throw a party! was pretty epic...

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Unobtrusive, Dynamic, Warmth, Energentic, Romantic

What about your business are you most proud of?

I'm proud of winning be named the South west photographer of the year twice, once in 2014 and once this year. Will find out in January who wins the national awards. It's one of the better awards as the first stage is voted by the couples you have photographed in the year, if you don't get a high enough score you can't get through to be judged by your peers.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make a photographer high on your priority's, good photographers will get booked up early so don't leave it too late.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Hard to come up with one, I love it when couples do something completely different weather that be a ceremony on top of a cliff or even missing out wedding traditions for something unique.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

My first point of call for my clients is my website, I have worked hard to give all the relevant information that they might need. I put the prices on the website because I want to be honest straight away. After the website I always like to chat to couples before booking and they can ask any questions and I can go into more detail about my approach and pricing. I try and make booking very simple, a bank transfer and online wedding contract are all that’s needed, this can be done in a matter of minutes. I’ll let them know to get in touch at any point over the months leading up to their wedding but tell them I’ll be in touch 2 months before the date to arrange either a meeting or telephone conversation depending on distances. On the wedding day itself I try to arrive early on the day, I hate to be late so I'll usually leave with too much time to spare but you never know. starting with the preparations I’ll just be in the background and won’t direct anyone. I simply observe and capture what I see, that’s not saying I just stand behind a curtain or sometimes similar. I’ll chat and laugh to make people at ease. It doesn’t usually take long before you can really take more pictures of people without them caring. I’m main aim is to look for emotion and storytelling in my images. To capture the emotion in people is my most important aim, all while trying to get good composition, lighting and to fit it into the whole narrative of the day.
