Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial emails I like to have a meeting go through their day and plans so far and ideas. Help them see where photo opportunities might come from and go through a typical wedding day from my view point. I show a full wedding to them if they haven't already seen it and take them through the paperwork. If they decide to book me it would depend on the package they book. Every couple gets a formula list to go through and I work with them on timetabling the day to ensure they get the best possible images as well as not spending to long away from their guests. We always touch base the week before to confirm details and then await the big day. On the day I follow the itinerary we laid out and help keep the day on track. After I get to edit the images and Cull them down to the best of the best. Viewing usually occur between 4-6 weeks following the wedding day. Couples then get to choose their images, albums wall prints and then we work on completing the orders. At every stage I am always available by email and I respond to texts and calls between regular office hours and I'm available by phone at any point in the 24hrs leading up to the day itself.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The comfy hug, a photographer will guide a lot to makes sure you look your best but my favourite shot is the couple hugging like they would at home with no cameras. True affection.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I got to take the image at the aerodrome on their roof. No one is usually allowed up there but I got special permission and I got some unique shots for the bride and groom that very few others will get.
