Essex-Born, Yorkshire-Raised and Educated by the Welsh, Matthew is an International Classical Crossover Tenor based in the United Kingdom. He has performed on the West End, in Europe, throughout East Asia and on board luxury cruise liners.
His work encompasses Musical Theatre, Opera, Oratorio, Recording and duetting with renowned Soprano - Leigh Rhiannon-Coggins. Matthew is the Founder and Music Director for The Operatiffs - 3 charismatic male singers with rich and powerful operatic voices.
From singing in the choir stalls, to a trip to Les Miserables at 8 years old, Matthew knew his career lay in the performing arts. Through support and education from his family, teachers and friends, Matthew has pursued his career internationally.
In 2012, Matthew performed as a soloist and in the Street Chorus for Bernstein's Mass, televised at the BBC Proms Concert in the Royal Albert Hall.
Matthew was in the original West End Cast and UK Premiere of It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman as arch-villain Dr. A. Sedgwick. Receiving many impressive reviews for his consistent performances, writers instructed readers that he is a "name to watch" and "a comedian to watch out for".
Matthew works as a sight singer, deputising for many of the major churches, cathedrals & concert venues in and around London. He is the lead tenor for Barok and since graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Matthew has also performed in Commercials, Large Corporate Events and on Television.
As a member of Only Men Aloud!, Matthew won the BBC Reality TV Series, Last Choir Standing.
