Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Eclectic, Vintage, Whimsical, Pretty & Quirky
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud that in a short time The Vintage House That Could has managed
to gain a loyal following, been featured
in blogs and publications and most importantly I am proud that couples
trust me to make their most special day even more special.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do what you want to do and don't be swayed by friends and relatives. Do not feel that you have to conform to the 'norm' and plan a day that is about your love for eachother and the things you love.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I am currently planning a wedding where we are creating an extra seating area using vintage furniture for the older generation. We are having linen embroidered to go on the chairs with the grandparents names on so they know it is special to them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once a couple get in touch I try and arrange a meeting straight away where we can discuss initial ideas and budgets. I will then go back and put together a Pinterest board and a personalised quote. If the couple are happy with the quote we can then meet at the venue and go over specifics. I will then keep in touch with the couple throughout the remainder of the time where they can email, facetime or call as much as they wish. I encourage my couples to keep adding to the Pinterest board so that I know that I am creating exactly what they want.
What are the decorative trends with brides currently?
My favourite trend at the moment is for botanicals, using lots of plants, tropical colours and vintage fabrics.
What decoration do you think every wedding needs?
All of my pretty props!!!
