The Pilgrims Rest

We got married here in August and I can't recommend the venue and the girls enough. Amy and Amy-Lou were such a pleasure to work with and made the planning process so easy. The venue is beautiful and needs minimal additional decorations, which meant we were able to add our own little personal finishing touches. Both girls dealt with my million emails and calls and constantly guided me through the whole process start to the hangover the next day. I would 100% recommend The Pilgrims Rest for any wedding. Went to a wedding here 23rd November. My husband was the Best Man. What a beautiful venue. A fabulous Tudor building which has all original features. It lends itself to such an intimate occasion. What can I say about the staff.........amazing. From the owner Becka to the 2 Amy's, to all the staff. You all went above and beyond to help create the most amazing day for Nick and Teresa. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I would give this venue a 10 out of 10...... More if I could.

I celebrated my birthday in this charming venue. It was amazing! The venue is cosy and the decor is full of rustic charm. The flexibility of DIY vendors was very appealing. I had a memorable day from start to finish, just as I imagined. Both Amy's bent over backwards to ensure everything went well. From initial contact to my celebration was smooth- thanks to these lovely ladies. They looked after all the fine details that made my day truly special. The memories will linger forever. Pilgrims rest is a lovely and beautiful venue!

What do we recommend about The Pilgrims Rest? EVERYTHING! The building itself is simply beautiful and the provided decorations help to reduce costs on venue stylists etc and they are always complementary to the season. The DIY element helps you to have the wedding you want, not what you’re told you have to have. Choosing your own suppliers adds to the fun and unique personalisation too. The no corkage charge is also obviously a huge help! We would also recommend going over to France and the Calais Wine Superstore - we got all our wedding wine for 100 guests at under £200 and they tasted great too. The two dressing rooms are beautiful and provide great space for getting ready with your nearest and dearest (and also are amazing backdrops for photos)! The dining room feels like something out of Hogwarts (when my fiancé said that to me I was sold from our first visit). I personally feel the venue lends itself to an autumnal cosy or Christmassy vibe due to the fires, but I’m also sure it’s just as suited to any time of year wedding. Lastly, the Amy’s. We love them. Everyone loved them. They truly went above and beyond to ensure everything went to plan. Nothing was too much trouble. We are beyond happy to have had our wedding at The Pilgrims Rest, it helped us to have a wedding day beyond our expectations and like no other we’ve ever been to. We actually wished we were guests at our own wedding. Possibly the best review I can give is... I’ve been dreaming (and secretly planning) our wedding day for the past 13 years. When we got engaged and actual allowed planning went into full swing, we saw the venue online and had to have a look. After our first visit, we looked no further. We knew it would be perfect. It was. Only thing is, we may have to unfollow you now on all social media as we feel sad seeing other people have fun there now ours is all over! Thank you for everything, Mr and Mrs Allpress

We held our wedding at Pilgrims Rest on May 18th 2019. The wedding day was perfect and was made even more special thanks to the venue. Pilgrims Rest is a wonderful wedding venue. It has history, character and charm. The DIY aspect really makes sure that the day is exactly as you imagine. The ability to supply your own alcohol without corkage is a huge benefit. Both Amy's were fantastic. From our first meetings we had absolute confidence that we were in safe hands. They responded to all questions promptly and met all of our ideas with enthusiasm and made planning a wedding easy. On the day they went above and beyond and made sure that everything ran like clockwork. The Pilgrims Rest has a great selection of approved suppliers, we especially recommend the Boxed Girls and DJ Dean! The Pilgrims Rest is a brilliant venue and very worthy of a 5 star rating! We couldn't have picked a better location for our wedding. We loved every moment.

Our wedding took place at The Pilgrim's Rest recently and it really was a magical day. We actually booked the venue almost two years earlier and have made several visits to the venue to discuss options, plan things etc. On every occasion we were met with friendliness professionalism and enthusiasm. Becs, Amy and Amy-Lou are fantastic to work with and genuinely care about what they do. The venue itself is simply stunning and a truly magical place.
