The Foundling Museum tells the remarkable story of the Foundling Hospital, established in the 18th century by Thomas Coram to care for children whose parents couldn’t take care of them. The artist William Hogarth and the composer George Frideric Handel played a big part in realising Coram’s vision. Together, they transformed the Hospital into the UK’s first public art gallery, and one of London’s most fashionable venues.
