Describe the best wedding that happened at Hummingbird Hall Jamaica (UK office)?

Is it cheesy to say that I love them all? We host custom designed weddings, so all are unique, personalized and different. If I were to choose a favourite, it would probably be a couple who married with us the year we opened and returned twice - 5+10 years later - to renew their vows.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Find a venue or vendor that makes you excited! Reviews, price + recommendations are certainly important..but only your gut feeling and intuition will tell you if you and the venue/vendor will click, stay on the same page and enjoy working together!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

All of our weddings are custom designed and personalized and are delightful to witness and experience in their own way. The award for the most memorable personal touch, though, would likely go to a couple who hail from New Foundland in Canada. Their cultural tradition demands that wedding guests kiss a raw fish (yup!) as part of their wedding reception. At another memorable wedding, a couple announced that they were pregnant during their speech. Was a wonderful moment for them and their families!

Where’s the best photo spot at Hummingbird Hall Jamaica (UK office)?

Gosh - everywhere. We're fortunate to overlook the Caribbean sea and so wedding guests are treated to ambling cruise ships, yachts and the azure ocean. We have magnificent gardens (including a garden waterfall!). We're also loved by friendly hummingbirds, parrots, owls + fireflies who often make an appearance in wedding photographs!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Hummingbird Hall Jamaica (UK office)?

Plenty! In fact, we've got lots of experience hosting weddings for celebrities, high profile couples and attendees. We're on an exclusive and private 5,000 acre estate (which itself is home to a number of celebrities) and guarantee privacy and discretion. We do not see ourselves as a "celebrity wedding venue", though. Celebrities are attracted to our venue for the same reason our other (very special, but not famous) clients choose Hummingbird Hall Jamaica: our service is superb and our weddings are beautiful, fun and executed with flair.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our Jamaican fish tea (a type of soup) is yumtastic.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Our live-action jerk chicken station is incredible. Truly!

What is Hummingbird Hall Jamaica (UK office) most unique feature?

Probably our team! We have a wedding designer who is a trained art historian, another who is a practising artist, a floral artist who is internationally renowned and one of the best chefs in Jamaica!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We host weddings for clients who literally hail from all over the world including Europe, The Americas, Asia and Africa. We're proud that we can showcase an exquisite side of Jamaica that those who are restricted to mass/chain/conveyor-belt resorts do not have access to.
