Description

The Counting House was designed by H.C. Boyes and built in 1893 as Prescott’s Bank. The building’s foundations sit partly on the 2000 year-old Roman basilica wall. Today, this magnificent building is a Fuller's Ale & Pie House, with much of the old charm of the banking hall still on display it makes this a very special and unique location for a wedding. Right next to the Royal Exchange it provides a wondering and iconic backdrop for awesome photos too! With an in-house wedding coordinator we are able to offer more than your average venue and being closed at the weekends, our pricing is very competitive. The venue can seat up to 120 people across two floors and with several smaller rooms available for other areas of your day such as bridal suite, cloakroom and a children’s entertainment areas. All our packages include all the normal things like crockery and linen but we are also pleased to offer inspiration sessions with our in house wedding coordinator where you will come away with all the best ideas on how your big day will work, supplier recommendation tailored to fit your style, needs + budget and exclusive discount on room rates at our Fuller’s Hotels. We are also pleased to announce that as of early 2019 the Counting House will also have a hotel available for you and your guests.

Describe the best wedding that happened at Counting House?

It was a wedding that fitted with the decor that already exists, using tankards for vases, tall candelabras and trivial pursuit cards for name place holders! All the finer details came together perfectly and the pub looked amazing.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Take some time out for yourself after you have said your vows. The day will go by so quickly and taking 10 mins to take in what you are doing is so important.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

My favourite personal touch was a couple who had special gifts for guests as their favours, each one was so individual and thoughtful that the guests all took their favours home! (which doesn't always happen!)
