Description

Charlton House illustrates a little-represented phase in the evolution of the English country house, linking the sprawling style of the Tudor age with the compact geometry associated with Inigo Jones. The original oak staircase remains, as do many fireplaces and plasterwork ceilings. Nestled in acres of beautiful parkland, Charlton House provides the perfect backdrop to your big day. Built during the reign of James I and one of the finest examples of Jacobean domestic architecture in the country, the mansion enjoys a fascinating history of intrigue and romance. Our beautiful wedding halls and reception areas are rich in period detail, featuring original fireplaces, wood panelling and intricate strapwork ceilings. You and your guests will treasure photographs taken in our lovingly-restored walled gardens and, on a warm summer’s afternoon, celebrating your special day with a glass of champagne in the soft tranquillity of the Peace Garden will be a moment to remember. Our list of caterers each offer a unique and tailored menu for your special day. From canapes, elegant three course meals and food from all over the world our caterers will help to make your day that little bit extra special.
