We do not do packages here as we have very few weddings and, on the whole, the people that are attracted to Capheaton are creative and free thinking. They want, as far as possible, to make their day special to them and their tastes. Capheaton is effectively a canvas for you to work on and plan a day that is exclusive to you and your friends and family. We do have one or two rules but they are only designed to make your day better and not put too much pressure on the house.
The house and grounds are exclusively yours for the day itself. Whilst we are ‘venue only’ we offer, within the price the assistance of our wedding coordinator who will give you time leading up to the day as well as making sure the day runs smoothly itself. She will help you select and coordinate suppliers give you some really useful tips on how to manage the day and then make sure that on the day you can focus on having a great time with your friends and family.
If you wish to marry in a church, we have a number of very beautiful churches locally and can help you decide which might suit you best. Alternatively, we offer civil ceremonies with capacity for up to 60 people in the main reception room.
We do insist on a marquee unless the wedding is very small, as we cannot really have dancing in the house itself. In fact, that works well for the management of the different parts of the day with civil ceremony, drinks reception in the house itself followed by the wedding breakfast and dancing in the marquee. We have a specific marquee site which is right next to the house with views over the front park.
The point is that everything from the food and wine to the marquee and the band is entirely your choice. We do have a list of suppliers we can recommend but providing they come with good references and we can meet them beforehand we are happy for you to use whoever you like. Incidentally we do not charge corkage.
There is also accommodation (additional cost) in The West Wing and School House.
