Within the historic setting of Blake Hall and its stunning private gardens, we are proud to offer you the beautifully restored 17th century barns and surrounding areas for your exclusive use for weddings, wedding receptions and other special occasion

Space to Celebrate

We’re fully licensed for ceremonies, so you can spend your whole day in one place. You can say "I do" in the lovingly restored Hay Barn or enjoy the fresh air under the canopy of the Saddlery. We also have our village church, St Germain's, at the end of the driveway if you would prefer to have your ceremony there and then stroll back with your guests for your reception drinks.

Our main Essex Barn is perfect for a party, seating 150 for your wedding breakfast or hosting up to 200 for the evening. We’ve kept all the historic charm but added the modern comforts you’d expect.

Stay a While

We want you and your loved ones to feel right at home. You can settle into the Old Coach House (which sleeps 7) the night before your big day. After the party, slip away to the romantic Stable Cottage, while your closest friends and family can tuck into our newly converted stable block, complete with en-suites and a private terrace.

Our priority is simple: making sure your day runs exactly as you imagined. You’ll have your own dedicated wedding manager to help with all the planning and to be there on the day to keep everything moving smoothly.

We’re just a stone’s throw from the M25 and M11 but ensconced in the beautiful Essex countryside, making it easy for your guests to find us and once you’re here, you’ll feel a world away.

A Sustainable Venue

Sustainability is a top priority at Blake Hall, where we use solar power, low-energy systems, and the natural cooling of our 17th-century barns to keep things green. Our gardens are just as eco-friendly, featuring wildflower meadows, busy beehives, and annual tree planting to keep the estate lush and local wildlife happy.

Blake Hall isn't just a venue to us, it’s our home, and we love nothing more than sharing its history with couples starting their own chapters. Nestled in Ongar, Essex, our family-run estate features two stunning 17th-century barns, a smaller barn, delightful accommodation and stunning gardens, that all feel like a dream come true. But what we are most proud of is our fabulous wedding team, many of whom were married at Blake Hall themselves. A true testament to weddings at Blake Hall.

We do not offer packages. At Blake Hall you pay for the food and drink you wish to provide for your guests based upon the number of guests attending the wedding. Due to the size of the venue, we do stipulate a minimum of 50 day time guests and also require that you offer your guests a sit down 3 course meal (or 2 courses plus canapés ). Best. Venue. Ever. Cannot recommend Blake Hall highly enough - the staff were fantastic from the get go with emails and literally any questions being answered within a day. The food was absolutely amazing, great portion sizes and we had so many guests comment on how good it was. Nothing was too much trouble for the team - we'd do it all again if we could! 😊❤️Best. Venue. Ever. Cannot recommend Blake Hall highly enough - the staff were fantastic from the get go with emails and literally any questions being answered within a day. Wow what can I say about Blake Hall... this was our perfect Wedding venue! I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the staff at Blake Hall who made our day so perfect! It ran so smoothly and I felt so calm and relaxed throughout the day because of their hard work, organisation and attention to detail. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting, the grounds, the accommodation and the barns were just breathtaking and so many of our guests kept saying how beautiful it all was. Beautiful venue, gorgeous surroundings and the most amazing, professional, friendly and attentive team. The food provided by Waters Edge Catering was delicious. Dave and his team looked after us very well & were very friendly, helpful, professional and efficient. Austin, Dave and Corinne helped make my daughter’s day the most special day of her life and went ‘above and way beyond’ on the day. Thankyou one and all. We received a 5* service, from booking to morning after, and I cannot recommend this venue enough.Beautiful venue, gorgeous surroundings and the most amazing, professional, friendly and attentive team. We got married here on 07/09/19 and it was honestly the most perfect venue. Right from the get go Austin was incredibly supportive and answered my MANY questions. Dave and his catering team were great, we've had great feedback from guests about the food and there was a good range of choices. The staff on the night couldn't have looked after us any better and kept checking in to see if there was anything we needed. It's such a beautiful venue, everything is well kept, gardens are just stunning. We were hoping to get married outside but having the option of the Haybarn completely took the pressure off when the weather wasn't quite warm enough on the day. I wish we could do it all again!! The most breathtaking venue for a wedding the cottage we stayed in the night before the wedding was perfect staff went above and beyond to make the wedding perfect for my sister and brother in law. The barn is beautiful and the whole experience and beautiful grounds set the scene for a perfect ceremony from start to finish it was so well thought out, modern and romantic. Blake Hall has by far the best authentic barn facilities for weddings in Essex. With the renovation of the 2nd barn on site you now have the option of a beautiful ceremony inside or out. The grounds are beautiful and make for some great photos, the accommodation for pre and post wedding are amazing and really make the experience a memorable one. Venue, food and staff were all amazing, so many people commented on how lovely our venue was. We really wanted an outdoor wedding too. Such a beautiful place. Accommodation was also very nice. We had a fantastic day at Blake Hall. The staff were excellent and helpful to any queries I had on the day and months before the wedding. All communications were dealt with quickly which helped with my planning of my homemade touches to my wedding.We had a fantastic day at Blake Hall. I can't rate Blake Hall and all its staff highly enough. The venue, although naturally stunning is maintained to the highest of standards by the staff. Each time we went to the venue prior to our wedding the staff were always hard at work e.g. repointing pathways, pruning the gardens, repairing fences! On the day nothing was too much to ask for, we made last minute changes that were 100% accommodated with no questions asked! Austin, Dave, Sarah, Rachel & ALL the staff at Blake Hall were amazing!I can't rate Blake Hall and all its staff highly enough.
