Wonderful venue with amazing special touches by Liz and Graham

Assynt House is simply stunning. We had our wedding there 3 years ago and it exceeded all of our expectations. The venue is immaculate and the food Graham produced was the best I've ever had at wedding (as all of our guests commented too). Liz adds so many little special touches that make the day even more amazing and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Wedding guest at the Gallie wedding

Assynt house is the perfect location for a wedding. We were guests at my good friends wedding in September and it was amazing from start to finish! The house and gardens are a 5* location. The bedrooms were gorgeous, so clean and decorated to the highest of standards. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, not only for the bride and groom, but also for every guest. I would highly recommend Assynt House to anyone planning their wedding. In fact, if I could have my wedding again, I’d do it at Assynt!!

Amazing!

It is difficult to put into words just how perfect our stay, including our wedding, at Assynt House was. From start to finish, including the organisation and communication with Elizabeth and Graham we could not have asked for anything more. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning, with the little extras and attention to detail making it that bit extra special. The rooms are all incredibly well appointed, comfortable and have fantastic en-suites. The public areas are also spacious but homely and welcoming. We had an amazing wedding ceremony in the beautiful garden followed by the most delicious meal cooked by Graham. Every part of the day surpassed our expectations, and this was largely due to the local recommneded links (band, string quartet, florist, photographer, humanist, cake maker) provided by Elizabeth and Graham, and also the highly organised (but never stressful) attitude taken by them, and their wonderful staff. The following day we had another gathering and a BBQ catered by Graham - the same high standards prevailed and we, and our guests, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We cannot thank Assynt House and its owners Elizabeth and Graham enough for making our wedding better than we could have ever imagined. However, it was more than that, and we can't wait to find an excuse to come back. We would have no hesitation recommending Assynt House to anyone considering it for either a holiday, gathering or indeed if you are looking for an exceptional wedding!

Still overwhelmed

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the most amazing wedding we had at Assynt house. We miss the venue and miss the owners more!! They are exceptional hosts who had such attention to detail, our day was like a fairytale. Nothing was too big an ask of The staff of Assynt house. The venue and location is simply picturesque and although we only live in the neighbouring town, we felt a million miles away from everyone. The day itself was calm, with only close friends and family in attendance. There was so much I forgot to tell Elizabeth before I walked down the aisle but it’s like she read my mind and everything was in its place. We got married in the drawing room but my husbands mother with our children and family all playing lead roles in the day. Absolutely perfect. We then all went outside to allow the team to turn the room around for dinner - wow they worked miracles as it was done with ease!!! They served drinks and canapés to all the guest and were so friendly. We went back into the drawing room for the dinner - wow I have never tasted scallops like that. Our guests are still talking about the food to this day. We had our toasts after the meal and then left Assynt to go to a hall to meet our evening guests. When we came back to asssynt house, the place was ship shape again. What an experience. That intimate feeling of having your nearest and dearest stay with you for the few days before and after your wedding. The care and love the team of Assynt house put into they day and our stay was beyond expectations. No words will do Elizabeth and Graham justice for the day they gave us. They are the most welcoming down to earth couple who love what they do!! We love Assynt house and we love the owners too! We had our delete and come true!! ❤️

Utterly perfect!

We were privileged enough to hold our wedding at Assynt house on 8th August 2014. I still struggle to describe and put down in words how special the whole experience was - we were lucky enough to have the AH for the week, with our family and friends coming together to relax and enjoy this beautiful venue and surrounding area. Liz and graham were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much - they really went above and beyond on every detail, creating a welcoming, relaxing and luxurious experience for all. The lead up to the big day was exciting, with bbq’s, Highland games, quizzes and lots of relaxing and wine by the beautiful fireplace! We held our wedding outside (always a risk in Scotland!) but really wanted to make the most of the beautiful garden and breathtaking views. We were blessed on the day with glorious sunshine and I remember a moment when the clouds parted and the sun shone down on us and my new husband whispered that my mum was watching over us.... The food was first class - we still have comments from our guests that it’s the best wedding meal they’ve ever had. We partied till the early hours, with a live band in the evening creating a fantastic atmosphere. What I loved most - the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the heart felt emotions shared by all, marrying my best friend in the world, and top it off coming home from our wedding week with the best present in the world - identical twins!!! I would recommend Assynt house in a heart beat and would do it all over again and not change a thing.... utterly perfect!

What an truly remarkable and memorable day!

I was lucky enough to be a guest at a wedding at Assynt House. The day was a very special day as it was a family wedding but the love and intimacy that surrounded the couple was enhanced by the beautiful venue and surrounding area. The house was spectacular inside and out with every attention to detail thought about! The food/catering was totally delicious and we all continued to feel full of love as we settled into our luxurious beds! Wow! What lovely memories!

Perfection in every way!

The approach to this beautiful building is that of wonder and excitement - we had seen photographs, but pulling up to Assynt House through the tree-lined driveway was something I’ll never forget. We climbed the beautiful stairs that lead to the front door and we already knew that this was the place where we wanted to get married! Elizabeth and Graham greeted us so warmly and gave us the grand tour. They are such a lovely couple and their passion for what they do really shone through. We felt an instant trust in them and were so pleased that we had found this place! In the run up to the big day, Elizabeth was always at the other end of an email/phone to run ideas by. When we booked our wedding, we decided that we would stay for 4 nights so it gave us a chance to run through all the details of the wedding a couple of days beforehand. We didn’t need to think about anything on the actual day of the wedding as Elizabeth had everything organised perfectly and seamlessly! Graham is a chef and we had great fun running through meal options and ideas with him! He prepared and cooked the most delicious meal for us on our wedding day, it is something that we still think about now 2 years down the line. We really feel so lucky to have gotten married in this beautiful place. The gardens are just as amazing as the house - they are the perfect setting for photographs! There is room in the gardens for a marquee if you were expecting a large number of guests, however we opted for a very small number and were married inside the house. If you are looking for a stunning place to get married, where the service is exceptional and the food amazing then you really don’t need to look any further than Assynt House!
